Black Friday is the single best week of the year to lock in marketing software: the big suites rarely discount any other time. But the week is also a minefield of fake countdowns and upgrades you don't need. This is the playbook.
Heads up: some links below are affiliate links — if you buy through them, MarketerDeals may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only feature tools we'd recommend anyway.
What actually goes on sale (and how deep)
- SEO suites (Mangools, SE Ranking, Serpple, etc.): 30–40% off annual — the deepest discounts in martech.
- Email platforms: 20–30% off annual plans, occasionally bonus credits.
- All-in-ones (GoHighLevel, ClickFunnels): usually extended trials or first-month/annual bonuses rather than straight discounts.
- Frontier AI subscriptions: essentially never discount — don't wait for one.
The three rules
- Annual only. The deals live in annual billing. If you wouldn't pay 12 months up front, the tool isn't proven for you yet — use the trial first, buy next year.
- Verify on the vendor's own page. If a deal isn't visible at the vendor's checkout, it doesn't exist. Fake BF coupons are a whole industry.
- Budget before the week. Write your list of 2–3 tools with prices now. BF urgency is engineered to make you buy things you never budgeted for.
The traps
- Fake countdown timers that reset on reload.
- "Lifetime deals" on unproven tools — the tool often doesn't survive; the support surely doesn't.
- Tier inflation: the BF price is often applied to a higher tier, so the "60% off" is off a plan you didn't want anyway.
Your pre-BF checklist
Four weeks out: list tools and current prices. Two weeks out: start trials on the top candidates so the BF decision is informed, not impulsive. Black Friday: buy annuals only for tools you used during the trial. That's the whole playbook — and every year, the verified deal list lands in the Thursday email first.
